Engagement Rings and Why You Need to Research Now

If you're even considering getting engaged, now is the time to start doing your research on engagement rings. Trust us. You do not want to wait until the last minute. There is a good chance that your special someone has something particular in mind and its going to be our job to work together to make all of those dreams a reality.

What to Look for When Researching Engagement Rings

When you start looking at engagement rings, it's important to keep in mind what your fiancée-to-be likes. Does she/he prefer dainty jewelry, or do they like things that are a little more flashy? What is their style? Are they classic and timeless or more trendy? Once you have a good understanding of their taste, you can start zeroing in on engagement rings that fit their style.

Another essential factor to consider is your budget. How much are you willing to spend on an engagement ring? It's necessary to have a firm budget in mind before you start shopping because engagement ring prices can vary widely. You don't want to fall in love with a ring that's way out of your price range!

The final thing to keep in mind when researching engagement rings is the 4 Cs: Cut, Clarity, Carat Weight, and Color.

  • The cut of a diamond refers to its proportions and symmetry—basically, how well the diamond has been cut and polished.
  • Clarity is how many blemishes or inclusions—internal flaws—a diamond has.
  • Carat weight is how heavy the diamond is and, consequently, how big it appears.
  • And color refers to the color of the diamond! Diamonds are graded on a scale from D (no hue) to Z (a yellow-hued diamond). Keep these four things in mind as you start your search for the perfect engagement ring!
